Description
Within our Core Values at AEFIS are “Partnership in Every Way” & “Mentorship with Everyone. It is through these Core Values in action that we are grateful for the guidance and “adult supervision” from our mentors who have contributed their ideas and provided us with advice which has ultimately led to the creation of AEFIS Academy, Your Center for Communities of Practice.
Background
COVID-19 exposed a number of inequities in education. Along with these inequities across institutions, the pandemic confirmed how truly isolated the higher education system is from its parts. Perhaps, it has also spotlighted some opportunities to bring people together, digitally, simply, and easily no matter the distance. AEFIS Academy seeks to bring higher education leaders together to support and learn from one another.
AEFIS Academy was created as a way to combat social distancing and to promote opportunities for the higher education community to connect with one another and share expertise. In this way AEFIS Academy encompasses the components of Communities of Practice (CoP), and enables educational leaders to learn, teach, collaborate and innovate together, despite the distance, using the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the community. We as a community hope to address challenges, share stories, engage in discussions, spark research interests, and try out new strategies of pedagogy, assessment and authentic lifelong learning.
Academic Leaders
Thank you to these innovators in particular, who shared their authentic feedback and intentional design to develop AEFIS Academy: We are honored to have these academic leaders coaching this panel discussion:
