“Communities of Practice are groups of people who share a concern, a set of problems, or a passion about a topic, and who deepen their knowledge and expertise in this area by interacting on an ongoing basis” (Wenger et al, 2002). We are excited to assemble with you here as we work through some of today’s challenges and innovations in higher education teaching and learning.
A big part of AEFIS Academy is the AEFIS Users Meeting Anywhere (A-UMA, pronounced “Ohmmm”), a yearlong series of communities of practice events with activities to help our community learn, teach, collaborate, and innovate. A-UMA features on-line webinars, seminars, lectures, panel discussions, story-telling, discussions, recorded events, and differentiated learning resources.
